Climate Change has made the whole environment and its people trap in a complex system. It has become complex as there are numerous entities such as the melting Himalayas, frequent floods, temperature changes, late rainfall, heavy or less rainfall, crop failure which are to be understood. These are non-linear as the summation of all these together cannot simply derive the solution. They are inter-looped and hence the greater effect is inclined towards agriculture, which is the main source of livelihood for mountain people.
INHERE has been working on to address the issues of climate change by carrying out 4 major phases:
- identification of innovations,
- joint experimentation of those innovations,
- participatory innovation development
- observation and replication.
Also, the farmers are taken on exposure visits to see the innovations, mutual knowledge sharing and enhancement.
